I was entered into the United States when I was 8 years old. I was entered on the plane with a fake passport and ever since I've been using my real name. I used my real name for school and college. I'm currently here illegally. I want to start my process of application for citizenship but there is a problem. My lawyer told me to marry under the name i entered with and so i did. Before we started the application he realized i was finger printed under my real name so if i were to apply my finger prints would show already in the system. So the only solution is to change my fake name to my real name (which doesnt have a visa) on the marriage license. How do i go about doing so? and will i still be able to obtain a green card? I reside in massachusetts.

Hi all,
I am on h1b right now but had applied only for AP since i do not have valid stamping on my passport but have an approved renewed h1b extension valid till 2012.
My AP will be expiring coming nov 2009 and have the following questions,
1) How many days before expiry can i apply for the AP renewal. If i apply now the texas processing times for AP is around Apr 1 2009, does it mean the new AP they will provide from Aug 2009 to Aug 2010 or from my AP expiry date which is nov 2009 to nov 2010?
2) I am also thinking of applying for EAD to keep as a backup (just in case).
Can i apply EAD alone now and wait for nov to apply for AP (or should i apply both together) ?
3) If i do a paper based filing does it mean there will be no request for finger printing?

How much time does it take for 485 to get approved with a visa number available. I applied for 485 after my i-140 was approved. Does the priority date have anything to do with processing for 485?

Hi, Last year, I heard about a new rule that says that H4 time will not be counted against H1 time so basically, if someone is transferring from H4 to H1, the time spent in H4 will be excluded while deciding the duration of H1.
Is this rule true ? I mean, has it become a law now ? Did somebody use this rule to grab the time spent in H4.

Yesturday night, I saw Charlie Rose Show, in which he first interviewed Andi Carr and then RAHM EMANUEL Representative (D-IL)....
In the middle of conversation, Charlie asked Rahm about what Dems agree and disagree and how they will work with President. He replied that there is no all disagreement. He said Dems agree on Tax reform as well as Immigration. Then he went on to talk about favoritism to CIR.
It seems like winning the election even while being on Immigration side as well defeat of Representatives J.D. Hayworth and Randy Graf (Hardcore Immigrant Haters) have embolden Dems that Immigration is not as taboo as it was once thought. I have a feeling that they will get this done sooner than later. :)

My wife received Appt. letter for FP second time. It mentioned that first time FP didn't pass thru FBI check, se she need to come again at no cost. Is this normal and did it happen to any one? We are in Atlanta.

Goto ASC and talk with them and explain the situation. Sometimes they will take the fingerprints, without the fingerprint receipt. Try your luck there.
