I've received very good advice from IV members and hope to get this one sorted out here. My in-laws passed away within the last 2 years and wife's younger sister is stressed out. To cheer up we plan to bring her to US for 2 months. Her visa may get rejected for these reasons. No strong family ties in India since the parents passed away. She is an engineer (non-IT) but not employed and she is unmarried and no other siblings in India.
However she is a partner is her father's business and can show the documents as a proof.
What's the best way to get apply for visitor visa
1. I sponsor her visit, by sending bank statements, pay slips and employment letters etc.
2. She applies on her own and show her partnership documents, bank statements etc..
3. She goes through a travel agent like SOTC and book 10 day sightseeing trip and after which she could join us.
Obviously her sister being in US and no parents back home is a big red flag but we can't change that situation.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

Yes, you should be able to get a 3 year extension assuming your priority date is backlogged.

Hi I'm a US citizen and have around 15k or less credit card debt. All government loans were paid off. Something happened three and a half years ago in my home town and I had to leave Washington state and took care of it. So my question is: it's has been 3 and a half year and I'm heading back to washington state for short visit.
1. I'm sure the debt did gall into collection agency. Will it go to court?
2. Since I had been gone since 2007 and will there be a warrant on me since I didn't appear to court (if there was one)
3. I will be entering Vancouver bc airport then to Seattle by driving. I'm afraid I will get caught for warrant at the border.
Hopefully someone can answer my questions and thanks for the help in advance.

My labor and 140 are approved. 485 is pending.
Can I go to India and come back , say just 5 months before my PD comes current.
e.g. the EB2 is now hanging at March 05 . My PD is at Oct 05. When it comes to around Aug 05 ...I will come back and start working.
I have to fight some litigation there .I have my AP Documents and EAD all right .
my Q is WILL THIS CAUSE RED FLAGS ON MY 485 APPLICATION. As long as I was in US I was employed. But I was out of US for my own personal situation.
Please advise

Just i have applied for AP through efile. From here what's the procedure? Do i need to send the support documentation? if so, what are all the documents i need to send? please through some light on this. also will i get another bio metrics appointment?

Really disappointing. Senator Schumer says on the one hand that the targeted companies are not violating the law and on the other says they are underpaying their workers - which would be a violation of the law. Which is it? Hello folks. I hope someone can help me out on this issue. I applied for my wife's EAD back in July 2007. The EAD was processed in two weeks and we received the card. However, my wife's middle initial was incorrect and we sent it back to USCIS with an explaination concerning the mistake. USCIS stated that it would take anywhere from 2 months to 6 months to process the correction. Last week I received a letter from USICS stating that I need to submit a completed I-90 form. A I-90 form is used to replace a green card. We just applied for our adjustment of status in 6/2007 and are not permanent residents at this point. Getting the EAD has become a nightmare for us. Do I try and write a letter back to USCIS stating that they are asking for the wrong form. I tried to call them but they said to respond to the letter sent. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Initially lawyer said he would do everything in one fees. Now he says he will charge 1000 dollars more since he is filing for wifes separately. I was wondering whether to do it myself. Is it advisable? Has anyone done it succesfully? If so what do you put on top of your application so that USCIS knows I am filing for derivative and my PD is current and so they wont reject the docs? Thanks.
