I used David Cohen at Canada Immigration - Information on Immigration to Canada (http://www.canadavisa.com/)
They did a good job. My only complaint with they kept changing the paralegal that was handling my case like 3 times during the whole process. Otherwise no problmems.
First thanks to those who put there first hand experience in this thread, it made me think again. And now I am deciding to cross the border and go north, after 9+ years in US on H1b.
Could someone please refer a Do-it-yourself kit that they have used and/or immigration consultant?
I contacted one consultant, they email almost every week and when I called/emailed them saying I am ready to pursue there has been no response from other side yet.
It will be great help for me if you could refer a kit or a consultant.
Looking forward to join H1->Canada community :D
Thanks

Hi Prince Charming,
I have made a post. Please confirm if yours was exactly the same case " subsitution"--leading to 2 applicants seeking same labor and me being left with no I140 since previous employer revoked.
Based on your post, I am hopeful that my MTR gets accepted too. Could you answer the other questions I have raised that relate to post-MTR phase.
Best-
Mohican

Pappu,
Looking at the poor response, I am wondering if we should post it on other immigration forums to gain further momentum?

How did you calculate 50k? Just curious.
About 50k might be remaining visas alloted for EB2 India. These 50k are the spill overs from EB1, EB2 ROW and Family Based Unused Visas as well.
In July 2007 Fiasco there have been received about 300k 485 applications. And out of that Say 200k belongs to EB3 because in EB3 it includes India and ROW also. Where as In EB2 its only India and China. Because in EB2 ROW is already current. So I presume about 100k applications are from EB2 and waiting for visa numbers. So this year 50K spill overs +9,800 rgular allotment for EB2, totaled about 60k. So 60k of this year and next year clears off all EB2 applications and make EB2 dates current.

Indeed it makes no sense that people who have families to support get nothing, while those who do not have families get it.
Anyway, it is not over yet. I have been able to get congress to approve checks for military families, so anything is possible.
That is really great NEWS. at least, some are benefiting from the left outs. How did that happen so quickly. What are the hurdles in getting it for legal immigrants (for example, H4 dependents)?

With what happened last July, it will be a long time before we see "C" on EB3. However, we can only hope that atleast the date listed is closer to date.

Experts,
I have done e-filing for my AP renewal. I read the instructions to see what documentation I need to mail, but I did not find any documentation specifically for e-filing. Does this mean that there is no need to send any documents? I heard USCIS will take picture during biometrics which is all they need. Can you please share your experiences on this. thanks a lot.

Having time off with my boss is traumatic to say the least. I am entitled to seven weeks vacation a year and barely get three most of the time. Even when I am off I get phone calls and have to leave contact numbers, that includes when I am with my parents in England.
Can you imagine asking for two days off to go to an immigration rally that just reminds him that I will be out of his employment jail some time in the not too distant future I hope.
My green card process is in its sixth year. Look forward to shaking off my shackles and moving on with life. Glad to say my husband now has an EAD so at least he is free to work and join the human race again.
I am sure many people are in this sort of situation since we are indebted to our employers which is one of the things we would like to change.

My current H1B was sponosred through an educational institution and was hence cap exempt. Will I be able to transfer my current H1B if I decide to move to a private company?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Agree completely !!!
Otherwise, It should be allowed to have PD based on my First Port of entry date ?
I still say that they should be allowed to port but should go back in line.
Thanks
